Classes take place at the community center, unless otherwise noted.

Pickleball

Indoor Drop-in Pickleball

All are welcome! You do not need to be a member of the Shoreview Area Pickleball Club for indoor drop-in play.

The 2026 Pickleball Club is full

Name tag with 2026 sticker must be worn for proof of membership. The club will email you with details about etiquette, name tag pick-up, clinics, and more.

The season runs May - October, weather permitting. Pickleball club membership does not include community center drop-in play.

AARP

AARP Smart Driver

Taught by AARP trained instructors, Smart Driver teaches safe driving techniques to help keep you and your loved ones safe on the road. Insurance discounts for those 55+. A four-hour course is required every three years. The eight-hour course is no longer required.

Bob Ross Painting Class

Famous for encouraging everyone to try painting, Bob Ross's legacy lives on in these classes. There are no mistakes, only happy accidents. Experience painting the Bob Ross way with certified instructor, Valarie Namen.

Day trips & travel

Day trip: Stillwater Promenade and River Cruise

Enjoy a relaxing river cruise on the scenic St. Croix River Cruise with time to wander charming downtown Stillwater. You'll have an hour to explore shops before boarding the boat. Be sure to bring spending money! Your trip includes coach bus transportation, a scenic St. Croix River boat cruise, and a delicious build-your-own deli sandwich, fruit, potato salad, and a cookie. Beverages are available for purchase on board.
Motorcoach requires two stairs. The boat has ramp access from the landing with accessible restrooms.

The Museum of Russian Art and lunch at Kramarczuk's

Enjoy a guided tour of the Museum of Russian Art, see Soviet-era works, folk art, and the new Cats and Dogs in Soviet Art: Workers, Teachers, Friends exhibition. We'll head to Kramarczuk's, a Nordeast favorite, for lunch on your own (card only; no cash)

Mah Jongg Semi-Private Workshops

Quit 'dragon' and get 'crackin'! Retired teacher and avid Mah Jongg player, Tarri Lavine, will bring you into the world of Mah Jongg. Mah Jongg helps maintain good brain health, memory, and opportunities to socialize. Mah Jongg is similar to Gin Rummy but played with tiles instead of cards. Tiles and handouts provided. These new workshops are limited to three participants for personalized learning.

Learners Tournament Workshop

Have you always wanted to play in a Mah Jongg tournament but not sure you're ready? This beginner-friendly event, led by Tarri Lavine, offers a relaxed way to learn tournament play. Play in a practice-style tournament, review rules, scoring, and strategies. Questions are welcome during play so you learn how tournaments differ from NMJL play. The session includes two rounds of three games with certificates and door prizes. Bring your 2026 NMJL card.

Proceeds benefit the local dementia support groups on behalf of TC Metro & Suburban Mah Jongg Club.

Prerequisite: No previous tournaments, Beginner 2 Mah Jongg class or similar.

Functional balance screening

Measure your fall risk and identify areas to strengthen with a free balance screening from OSI Physical Therapy. Balance screenings are held the first Tuesday of the month.
